Just wondering how many Sprinter owners are running Amsoil or other alternatives to the Mopar fluid. How long they have been running it and if they have had any failures or problems attributed to any other than oem fluid. My local stealership wants $27 cdn. a liter for mopar
so I'd like to try an alternative. It's not that I'm cheap but $270 just for the fluids seems a little extreme. Derek |

I paid $17.xx per quart about 8? months ago. This price was an alleged discount
by the dealer. To be honest I think that it is very expensive BUT you only have to do it every 60K (did mine at about 55k btw we measured what came out, and added to that 1/2 quart. At my next dealer stop, I asked the tech to check it and he said it was right on! I do refuse to pay $80 for a friggen dipstick ![]()

I paid $19.84 + 8.25% = $21.48 for a quart just for topping off. This was about 4 months ago. What I want to know is when it's flushed, do you still have that Rumble Strip Noise?
According to this individual, who sells the Amsoil stuff, his RSN at 40-50mph is gone. My RSN happens consistently at 20mph. Quote:

Try this place... http://www.europarts-sd.com/ ...I bought my dipstick for $51.17. This is with shipping and CA tax. You can probably get it cheaper. It's the genuine part from MB (p/n: 140 589 15 21 00). Unfortunately, it's at $59.97 now. Download the pdf price list from their home page. I know the individual on Ebay is selling theirs for $80 + shipping. ![]() Seek |

At... http://www.europarts-sd.com/ ...their pricelist lists their ATF at $9.50 per liter, which is 0.9464 a quart. Seek |

Thanks Seek. It's kinda sad to have to import ATF but I think thats what I'm going to do. To buy 10quarts from my dealer after taxes is over $300
so europarts is quite a deal. I havn't priced out the Amsoil yet, but would want more feedback before I went that route I think. Derek 03 140 SHC passenger |

I dropped my pan and replaced the filter at 15,000. I filled with an equal amount of Redline Hi Temp fluid. I also drained my rear pig and put in Redline 85w-140 synthetic fluid. Back to the trans fluid. I ran my Sprinter for a hundred miles or so then drained the trans pan and filled with an equal amount with Redline high temp fluid again. I really like Redline products. I also use 2 qts of Redline 15w-40 with my 5w-40 T&SUV. Redline is great stuff. I would HIGHLY recommend Redline high temp trans fluid, Redline 85w-140 diff fluid, and Redline 15w-40 diesel oil. I have no rumble strip noise. I am not affilited with Redline.

Hi Suba:
Did you have the rumble strip noise before and when/where did it occur? This might be interesting. Thanks, Seek |
