Default 4x4 3500 Tire Choices

Hey all,

Looking for advice from anyone who has information on my predicament. I'm trying to decide on the tires that I should get to replace the stock ones when the rig arrives.

I've run DuraTraks and they are my preferred tire. I know that I can fit 265/75/16's on the front but the back being duals with the stock size of 215/85/16 leaves me struggling to find anything but stock.

I've checked and can replace the stock tires with the same size DuraTracks but would like to fill the wheel well. The problem is I can't go wider hardly at all on the back which I would have to do to gain the needed height. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Go to super singles in the rear? Might have to have someone like Stockton wheel make you a set of wheels but would prob be pretty awesome.

Just so you match the rolling diameters of the front tires and the rear tires.
DuraTrac Super singles.....I don't think so.
There is a lot more to "SuSi" (Super singles) than just some wider rims, and if you try to
go with the MB super singles (all factory parts here) it will void your warranty with MB USA.
Might want to find out how MB USA/Daimler Vans LLC USA feels about putting big tires on your
new 4x4 Sprinter......big tires will extend the warranty mileage significantly.
Have you measured the distance between the rear duals?
You may be able to put the DuraTracs on without them rubbing each other as there's a pretty
good space between the stock 215/85R16's on the stock rims.
Hope this helps,
Roger

What year is the van?

I'm running 235/85/16s on my 04 3500 with NCV3 wheels.

Thanks for the input. It is a 2015. Hasn't arrived yet. Just planning.

I'm not willing to pony up for the cost of custom super singles although it sounds cool.

Cole, that looks good. What size do you have on the front? Do you have to use spacers for the rear? The tire shop thought that the bigger sizes would touch so stock size DuraTracs would be my best bet. But they couldn't tell me for sure. DuraTracs will for sure fit at the stock size.

Same size all the way around, no spacers.

You should have more fender room on your 2015!

Cole - off topic but do I see your rig on Advrider? Looks familiar? Could have been here but I vaguely remember reading out some recent rear threshold refresh????

Dig the rig and great screen name ha!

Yep! I'm on Adv. After receiving much harassment I posted a build thread over there too!

Cole,

Just to confirm: The fronts are also 235/85/16? Or they are the 265/75/16?

Thanks

235/85/16 all the way around. I rotate them about every 3,000 miles.

This was about as wide as I could go without worrying about the duals touching each other under load.
