What did you do to your Sprinter today.

Der Unverbesserliche.
I liked the mounting solution the ProClip offered for my SG3, except for the fact that it is perfectly angled to show me my wife's punem under certain light conditions. I decided that I was going to try to solve that with a sun sheild, and I found one about the right size intended for a GPS unit. Hard to find ones small enough these days. Came in from China, lovely.

And its designed for something as thin as GPS units tend to be, the clips were too thin for the SG3. I wanted to mount it today, so I decided to roll up some electrical tape and use it as thin double sided tape. I think it works. Since its electrical tape, it shouldn't be a big deal to remove it and try something else in the future.

Now I'm a believer, previously was on "would it?" bandwagon.
Agree with @Green Maned Lion, now I know how shitty Sprinter was put together in general, I won't hold my breathe on anything on this van anymore.
Underneath the fender arches will rust, especially if you take the van on the salty roads, shit, these vans will rust w/o a salt mixture in a normal use condition with the rain drops.
(If you missed the discussion topic on rust, please take a look at this post: https://sprinter-source.com/forums/index.php?threads/144447/#post-1818892)

FWIW, my driver's side mirror developed a crack over the Thanksgiving weekend, like seriously? The outdoor temp was only 30'F and I've never seen in my entire life the side mirror cracked while sitting in parked position, as far as I know it has never been hit by anything as zero indication, I also fold my side mirrors when parked too.

I haven't had a chance to call my dealer, but this should be covered by the factory warranty right?

(I kindda like how the mirror got splitted and allows me to see the driver's side rear tire via the bottom half while the upper half continues to provide what the side mirrors should be providing.
Oh forgot to mention, noticed the driver's side mirror doesn't vibrate as much as it used to anymore after this crack was developed. I'm almost tempted to just keep it as-is. LOL)

But ultimately why so shitty?

Dropped an e-mail to my service advisor with the photo attached to see if I have to bring in my van for them to assess or they can process the warranty replacement using the photo above.

Last time when I had the rear passenger taillight replaced under the warranty, it started to build the moisture and dripped down enough where the pool of water accumulated inside the housing. They wanted me to bring it in to inspect to make sure it wasn't due to the parking lot accident. They didn't have the partial-LED taillight in stock, which I had to go back again.

This was definitely not in my bingo card to have the random side mirror cracked like that, it's a such clean crack which I have never seen before.

MB advertised Sprinters as the work horse machine, but as I've been saying, these vans are so damn sensitive and weak based on my personal POV.

I am going to bet somebody threw something at your mirror.

Nah, it was fine the day before and after the cold/freezing temp overnight it cracked. Based on what I've seen, if someone threw something of it directly or from the side/behind, the mirror won't give a clean crack like the one I ended up having. Also no evidence of the scratch on the side mirror housing itself.

This van has never been parked in the commercial parking lots, mostly on my driveway, camping ground, rv park, and MB dealership parking lot. So no chance for getting hit by anyone.

It almost looks like the manufacture defect and stress crack due to upper and bottom parts of the mirror getting pulled from the plastic housing its in place.

You don't have kids in your neighbourhood?

(1) Installed Starlink's DC power supply for my Gen 3. Just connect it to Delta Pro's Anderson port. It is a game changer.
(2) installed two 4k Wyze Pan Cam V4 and one traveler's portable router on my van roof. Cameras work great and take super clear pictures and videos. As long as the camera is not facing the sun directly, the video is clear enough for me to see license plate. Each camera uses 3w electricity. I can operate the camera via high speed Starlink super smoothly! but Starlink on stand-by mode does not really work well. The camera's wifi connection is weak (the most complained bug for this new release of Wyze). Gladly, I am able to see what is around my van when needed, especially when I sleep inside the van and notice some noise or motion nearby.

Being able to see outside when I am sleeping inside the van is critical to me for safety and peace of mind. Two cameras work tirelessly to record everything for me. I might install additional one directly facing the rear so that there is no need for the rear pan camera to rotate ~270 degree. 6 wh (144 wh a day) is nothing.

Added a front step. Not sure if I’ll keep it here or in the Sprinter. Maybe the back as a step? There is zero issue with ground clearance lol

I bought the smallest step I could find.

My sprinter is fairly tall so this still ends up as a big step up at 25-1/2”

I would keep it attached to the front, there are so many bad drivers in the parking lot where they ram into the bumpers, this will teach them a lesson :)
