Who has a better camp site than me?

Went to Fruita for my first trip in my new (and first) van. Storm came in so I had to cut my mtb riding short, but got to spend the night listening to rain with a little thunder & lightning. What a cool way to spend my first night in it!
Looks great @kdiff
What size tires are you running?

How is the road going up there? I saw its private property. Did they charge to visit? Are you allowed to just wander around? We were in the area a couple of times this year. Went to Bodie. So beautiful.

Cerro Gordo is open for visitors. There is sign at the bottom that indicates if they are open or not. You sign in and are allowed to wander around, but there are some areas that are off limits. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays they offer guided tours for $10 and you get to see the “off limits” areas like the hoist house, etc.. It’s a crazy, steep, 8 mile road with several blind switchbacks on a mostly one lane road on the upper section. I watched several cars turn around early as high clearance is required in several sections.
